Less than 30 days after my speech at last year's April 15th Tea Party rally at Victory Park in Manchester, I made the difficult decision not to seek re-election as Mayor of Manchester. Instead, I decided to run for the honor of representing you in Congress. Since that day, I have spent the better part of each week talking, and more importantly listening, to the residents of our district. The People’s Fiscal Responsibility and Reform Pact stems directly from those discussions and is based upon the beliefs and goals that I would present on your behalf within my first 100 days in office. From my first town hall in Exeter through to my latest in Wolfeboro, I have been inspired and challenged by your ideas and thoughts on how to best implement the real change that we know is necessary in Washington. That’s why I am asking for your help on expanding this original list of 10 reforms to a total of 15. I agree with all of these principles. However, these final 15 that I will commit to introducing, voting for or co-sponsoring in my first 100 days will represent a pact between myself and the voters of the First Congressional District. Please vote from the choices on the subsequent page to indicate to me which additional reforms you feel are the most critical for our country at this time. I look forward to taking this journey with you. It’s Your Voice, Your Vote and Your House. Together We Will Win In November. |
